Cookie-Free Declaration
This website does not use cookies.
The Retro-Tech Encyclopedia is designed to operate without any cookies, including:
- No analytics cookies — we do not use cookie-based analytics
- No tracking cookies — we do not track users across sessions or websites
- No advertising cookies — we do not display advertising
- No functional cookies — the website operates without storing cookies in your browser
- No third-party cookies — no external services set cookies through our site
Analytics
We use Umami, a privacy-focused, cookie-free analytics solution that:
- Does not use cookies or local storage for tracking
- Does not collect personally identifiable information (PII)
- Processes only aggregated, anonymous data
- Complies with GDPR and ePrivacy Directive requirements
Local Storage
The Hextra theme may use the browser’s localStorage to remember your preferences (such as dark/light mode selection). This data:
- Stays on your device and is never sent to our servers
- Can be cleared at any time through your browser settings
- Is limited to theme preferences only
Under EDPB Guidelines 2/2023, access to information stored on terminal equipment (including localStorage) falls within the scope of ePrivacy Directive Art. 5(3). We rely on the strictly necessary exemption for this functionality, as it is required to provide a service explicitly requested by the user (theme preference).
Third-Party Services
If you interact with third-party services linked from our site (such as Ko-fi or GitHub), those services may set their own cookies. Please refer to their respective cookie policies:
- Ko-fi: Ko-fi Privacy Policy
- GitHub: GitHub Privacy Statement
